Reflection:
The Weebly Blog was completed during the course of the Instructional Technology Graduate Program. It served as a place to regularly reflect on my experiences in the courses and on the different assignments that I completed during this program. By completing the blog, I was able to create a variety of types of blogs to showcase up-and-coming technology tools that teachers can utilize, to discuss educational topics, and share my thoughts on technologies and education.
Standard 6.2, Reflection provided me the opportunity to regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences. Through the Weebly Blog, I have been able to regularly evaluate and reflect on my coursework. Depending on the blog post, I spent time reviewing and evaluating web tools and apps to see the functionality and use in the classroom of each one. Some of the blog posts I reflected on the tasks that I completed that expressed my professional practice and dispositions, which helped me improve and strengthen my ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences. In these posts, I would also regularly reflect and evaluate research and educational topics to cultivate my professional practice and disposition.
Completing the Weebly Blog posts allowed me to take a deeper look into the courses and reflect on my learning through this entire process. I learned how to write different types of blog posts whether it be on a specific topic or reviewing web tools. This provided me with the skills to continue to write effective and impactful posts. To further improve my blog posts, I would like to see myself continuing to post a blog. I believe that this experience has taught me about myself and I believe I would continue to benefit from the regular reflections.
This artifact impacts student learning. By reflecting regularly, I am able to infuse my reflections into my class assignments and instructional strategies. When I reviewed web tools, I was able to tests these out with my students to engage them in the material and help them learn more about the content. The impact can be assessed in student performance in class. Students will be more apt to try new techniques and tools when the teacher is comfortable introducing tools to them.
